so i leave in about two weeks, and have done absolutely nothing in terms of actually preparing to leave. i have shopping to do, laundry to wash, suitcases to find and clean of spiders, packing techniques to perfect, and some serious clothing choices to make. i just bought some of those vacuum-seal bags to suck all the air out of my infamous amount of oversize sweaters, so let's hope they do their job.
as many of you who will read this know, i am very, very tired of work. carbondale has gotten a little livelier since the students got back, and i've had a relaxing summer, but it's time to blow this pop stand. thank GOD this is my last week of work in breadhell. i feel like i forgot to appreciate what will most likely be my last summer home, but i'm trying to improve my knack for making everything seem like the last time (i.e. my last june 24th home, things like that), so maybe it's just as well. i also feel like i haven't read or learned enough; i didn't really read any irish plays like i meant to, etc. i did find out my roommates' names, and my address--the picture is my street, and the light gray one on the left is mine, i think. it's not too glamorous, but it's apparently a pretty darling neighborhood, and i'm a fan of all things quaint, so i'm sure i'll love it. i've been trying to collect recipes, because i'm determined to make this the semester i learn to cook, mostly because of the imminent bankruptcy that will come at some point this semester.
other than that, i'm having the usual anxiety/excited/pre-homesick feelings of studying abroad. i'm just really eager to start it all!
so anyone who will be in beloit, hit me up, and for everyone abroad, have adventures and take pictures. also, can someone tell me how to create a favorites list so i can bookmark other people's blogs? and if you are any kind of religious, pray for the dollar to keep going up. me and my bank account would appreciate it.

heya. to bookmark your friends' pages you go to customize on the top right and then it is some tab on the left- i changed the name of mine to friends' blogs so i cant tell you exactly what its called but its something self explanatory. then it lets you add links and basically does all the work. enjoy!
If you use gmail, you can just add everyone and their mothers' blogs to your google reader. It's really easy and convenient.
Em, I have bookmarked you and plan to read as often as possible. Sounds amazing, I'm super jealous. Also, if you hear of a crazy American massacring a bakery-cafe, just assume that it is me. :\
